Published on: July 19, 2011
Winder-Barrow Community Theatre is proud to announce the third show of the 2011 Main Stage Season. “Father of the Bride” by Caroline Francke will open on Friday, August 12th and run for two weekends. Friday and Saturday shows start at 7:30 pm, and the Sunday matinees start at 3:00 pm. This play is a comedy about a father caught in the preparations for his daughter’s wedding. You might have seen the movie version of the play in the past. Come out and enjoy the excitement and laughter of a live theatre production.
The Winder Boys and Girls Club will be the Community Service Recipient for this show. WBCT always donates a portion of ticket proceeds to area nonprofit groups, and they hope that the money will be put to good use.
Tickets are now on sale at both ticket locations. Winder City Hall can accept credit/debit card orders at 770-867-3106. There is a 3% service fee that will be charged. You can also buy in person with cash or checks at City Hall as well as Pam Veader’s State Farm Insurance Office at 41 S. Center Street in Winder (770-867-1679). Tickets purchased in advance are only $10 for seniors (55 and older), teachers and students. Adults are $12.50 in advance. Tickets can also be purchased at the door at a higher price.
Auditions for the final WBCT Main Stage production of “Terror By Gaslight” will be held on August 23 & 24 at 7:00 pm at the Winder Cultural Arts Center in Winder. This show will be directed by Terri Duffield and Stephen Parker. Auditions will consist of cold readings, and the cast requirements are six women and six men ages 18 and up. Rehearsals will begin on August 29th and will be Monday, Tuesday & Thursday nights until closer to the show opening. Please bring a list of any schedule conflicts and a photo (if possible) to the audition.
