Auditions Announced for a Special Acting Group

Winder-Barrow Community Theatre Children’s PLAYhouse is excited to announce a new drama program to offer live plays for the local Elementary schools. Auditions for this special group will be held on Saturday, January 22nd at 11:00 am at the Winder Cultural Arts Center at 105 E. Athens Street in Winder. This acting group will be open to home schooled teens and adults ages 16 and up, and the actors must be available during the daytime since the plays will be presented during the school day. Rehearsals will be scheduled during the day and also at night, and there will be double casting in case an actor is sick or unavailable on a particular performance date.
Plans at this time include 8 performances to be scheduled during the last three weeks of March. Each school will be offered a play for PreK through 1st grade and a different play for 2nd-5th grade to be performed on the same date.
If you are interested in performing in this group, please come to the audition on Saturday the 22nd. No prepared material is required for the audition so come out and join the fun.
Don’t forget that Season Tickets are now available for the WBCT 2011 Main Stage Season. The cost is $40 for seniors (ages 55 and up), teachers and students and $50 for adults. The Season Ticket includes the 4 Main Stage Shows and can be purchased by credit card at Winder City Hall (770-867-3106) or by cash or check at Pam Veader’s State Farm Insurance Office at 41 S. Center Street in Winder (770-867-1679).
