WBCT Announces the Next Show
Published on: May 7, 2013
Winder-Barrow Community Theatre is proud to announce the cast of the next production. “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten” will be presented for two weekends starting on Friday, May 31st and ending on Sunday, June 9th. Tickets are now on sale at Winder City Hall (770-867-3106) and also at Pam Veader’s State Farm Insurance Office at 41 S. Center Street in Winder. Tickets are only $10.00 each. This show is a fund raiser show that is being held to help provide money for two scholarship funds. One half of the proceeds will be donated to Russell Middle School for the John Hasty Band Scholarship and will be used to send students to a band camp during the summer. His widow, Elinor Hasty, is the director of this show. The other half will be used to fund scholarships for children from the Boys and Girls Club to attend the WBCT Summer Drama Camps.
This play is based on the book by Robert Fulghum and was conceived and adapted by Ernest Zulia. It is a comedy with dramatic sections, and you will certainly relate to each part of the show as the actors tell about what they have learned through their lives starting in Kindergarten. Don’t miss this exciting show.
Auditions for the WBCT Summer Children’s Show will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 10:30 am at the Winder Cultural Arts Center. Cast requirements for “Wingin’ It” include children, teens, and adults ages 5 and up. This story shows that from the day we are hatched to the day we spread our wings and fly on our own, there are requisite, riotous rites of passage that must be experienced. This is a collection of humorous scenes that explore the innocent squawk of infancy, the terrible twos, the treacherous teens and everything in between. Whether you’re a feather short of adulthood or have a bird’s-eye view of growing up, this play soars with laughter. Come out and join the fun at auditions. Please bring a current photo if you have one.
